The Qur’an does not have the negativity about death that the Christian New Testament has (I have had some disagreements in church with preachers on this topic, especially at Halloween …). Death is very much a reality and integral to the created order. Arguably this reflects a non-Greek, Semitic environment (thank God!). The Qur’an frequently speaks of life and death together, as states which are alongside each other (and, yes, this does happen sometimes in the New Testament), often discussing the transition from one to another.
